Terms and Conditions
To register online, the parent or legal guardian of the applicant must read and agree to the following conditions.
1. I am the parent or legal guardian of the camper. I further agree to advise the camp in writing, prior to the start of the session(s) applied for, of any custody issues that they may need to be aware of.
2. I give permission for the camper to be involved with all activities associated with the session(s) applied for, except as noted on the registration form.
3. All activities have various risk as a result of participating in them. I release all individuals (volunteers, staff, board members, etc.) and groups associated with Rivers Edge Camp from any liability associated with any accident or sickness experienced by the camper, with the understanding that the camp staff will be taking reasonable precautions to guard against any situation of this nature. This includes, but is not limited to equine activities, participation in high ropes, bmx riding, archery, wall climbing, or any other activities.
4. I give permission for the reasonable use of photos and videos of the camper for any camp-related promotions.
5. I give permission for the reasonable use of my email address to keep me informed of camp related communications.
6. I believe that the physical and emotional condition of the camper will allow them to function appropriately in the session(s) registered for and that the camper is mentally stable. I understand that Rivers Edge does not have mental health workers present, nor the resources available should a situation arise. If a situation arises, Rivers Edge will contact emergency personnel, and the camper will be turned over to emergency personnel.
7. I understand that the Program / Executive Director is authorized to dismiss the camper if they refuse to comply with the rules of the camp.
8. I agree to notify the camp if the camper comes in contact with a communicable disease (such as a fever, vomiting or diarrhea) within 2 weeks of the planned date of arrival at camp.
9. I hereby authorize the camp medical staff or camp director to secure medical advice and services as may be deemed necessary for the health and safety of the camper. In the event that I cannot be reached, I agree to accept financial responsibility beyond the benefits allowed by the Provincial Health Plan.
10. Rivers Edge Camp is a Christian camp. The camp’s statement of faith can be found (here). While I may / may not agree completely with Rivers Edge Camp’s statement of faith, I / my party agrees to be respectful of camp’s position, and will behave in a way that is consistent with camp’s statement of faith.
11. I understand that during the registration process when campers are assigned to their rooms, all bags will be checked with the guardian present, and any phones, drugs, alcohol, weapons, or other items not deemed necessary for the camp, will be given to the guardian prior to the guardian leaving.
12. We are not able to provide equine training/services to those individuals who have experienced head injuries, including concussions, brain injuries/trauma, etc. In registering myself / my child, I attest that I / my child have not experienced any head injuries or that my doctor has signed off that I do not have any pre-existing conditions that would prevent me from participating in equine training/services.
13. Notice of cancellations requires a 7-day notice prior to the first day of camp. If the notice is not received, the deposit will be turned into a donation to Rivers Edge.
