Thank you to all those who came out for our There were 17 of us braving the snow, wind and temperatures of +1C. We had fun freezing together as we rode over some beautiful trails on and around River's Edge Property. At lunch time I was quite thankful to meet up with staff who had a nice roaring fire going for all of us to warm up around, dry off a bit, and exchange wet socks and gloves for dry ones before heading out for another 3 hours back to River's Edge where again we warmed up in front of a fire before having a steak dinner and some great door prizes. Thanks to all of you we raised just over $8,000 in support of River's Edge Equine Program. The funds will be used to buy helmets, a round pen, tack, bleachers, and horse shelters.
A special thanks to Western Sky, Ride n' Drive, and Tack Corral for donating prizes. |

Saturday evening, May 29th, was the second annual River’s Edge Camp “Spring Fling Fundraiser Gala.” And what a gala it was! Over 170 guests enjoyed a fabulous evening of fun, food, and fundraising! The evening raised over $33,000 towards the camp’s hospitality program; providing over 35,000 meals annually to local youth, families, schools, churches and corporate groups. Guests were welcomed into the transformed Frontier Hall building at 6pm. Spring colors of limes, blues and yellow’s filled the hall; candlelight and floral arrangements was discovered all around. Appetizers of cilantro lime marinated shrimp, cheese trays, beef and chicken satay’s, caramelized onion tarts and cucumber roulades graced plates and punch glasses were refilled over and over as the browsing of the silent auction started. The evening held a diverse group of guests – some familiar faces of the River’s Edge family and several new, first time visitors to the property. As one returning guest from Didsbury exclaimed at the end of the evening, “I was looking forward to this event all year!”
