Harold Cooper - Leadership Team Leader
Harold joined the River’s Edge Team as the Leadership Team Leader in May
of 2006 after spending 13 years in ministry with Athletes in Action
(AIA) in various roles. Harold has brought along with him a wealth of
knowledge and experience that has helped build a growing legacy at
River’s Edge Camp. His philosophy is best expressed in the following;
“Christian camping is in the business of contacting, impacting,
influencing and shaping people’s lives towards Christ-likeness. Camps
will build buildings and facilities and spaces for play BUT they need to
be developed in the context of who the camp is called to reach and how
to BEST do that in the context of our changing world that desperately
needs the changeless message of hope through our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
Harold and his wife Mary have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. They
enjoy spending as much time with their children and grandchildren as
possible.

Christy Penner - Hospitality Coordinator
Christy came to River’s Edge in the spring of 2005, joining the team as
an Assistant Cook. What was a 4 month summer commitment has become a
vocational calling for Christy, creating a welcoming environment for
guests and campers here at River’s Edge by overseeing our food and
beverage services, our guest services, our Bridge Café and General Store
and just about anything else she can get her hands into! Her background
in youth and family psychology has come in handy on more than one
occasion and her passion for writing and study led her to take a break
from ministry in 2007 to write her MA in Theology – focusing on Jesus’
meal sharing practices and contemporary culture. In her free time she
LOVES hanging out with her niece and nephews, reading and writing,
public speaking and hot tubbing!

Since then Fiona has moved into focusing on our Guest Group Ministries
and coordinates the comings and goings of all guests on the property.
